Several hundred revellers gathered in front of the residence belonging to the mayor of Bratislava’s Old Town on Friday evening, to protest against planned changes which would restrict the opening hours of bars and cafes.
Protester Emil said that “You can tax people 200 percent, you can jump over their heads and sneer at them, steal everything from them, you can be without any respect towards them. But try to take the alcohol from us, which help us to forget all those bad things. We will not allow it.”
Mayor Radoslav Stevcik proposes that all bars, cafes and restaurants in the area close 10 pm. The proposal comes after numerous noise complaints from locals.
