Russia: Caspian Sea troops enter into full combat readiness

Russian soldiers and military vehicles deployed at the army base of Kaspiysk in the Caspian sea entered full combat readiness after a sudden check of the troops was initiated by the Central Military District, Tuesday. Footage shows soldiers running into their vehicles and forming in front of officials as it should be done in case of an eventual emergency. The drills are aimed at organising the performance of complex practical tasks in the operational zone of responsibility. The control by the Central Military District on the Russian's Caspian Sea military will last until September 12. They will work very closely with the Caspian flotilla docked in the navy bases of Astrakhan and Makhachkala, which fulfill a wide range of tasks as part of tactical ship groups. About 95,000 soldiers, more than 7,000 units of weaponry and military equipment and about 170 aircraft are involved in the drills.
