Israeli security forces shot and killed a 16-year-old Palestinian boy who wounded two ultra-Orthodox Jewish men with a knife in east Jerusalem, Saturday. Israeli police at the scene attacked journalists who were attempting to take photos of the dead Palestinian teenager. A second knife attack took place in Jerusalem shortly after the first incident. Israeli police said that two Israeli police officers were attacked by a young Palestinian male after he was asked to identify himself outside Damascus Gate. The attacker reportedly showed his I.D. and then took out a knife and stabbed the officers. Officers at the scene shot and killed the Palestinian man as he tried to escape. Both officers sustained minor injuries in the attack. According to the Red Cross medical agency, at least 900 Palestinians have been injured throughout the West Bank and Jerusalem in seven consecutive days of protests and clashes with Israeli security forces. On Friday six Palestinians were shot dead and scores injured during protests on the Gaza-Israel border. The violence has drawn the attention of the international press and led to statements from political leaders, who are concerned over the possibilities of a third intifada (uprising).
