Germany: 'Merkel' hopes big money won't trump climate deal

Dozens of climate change activists greeted German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande as they arrived for an international meeting on climate protection in Berlin, Tuesday. Protesters held placards with slogans such as "100% clean energy" and "leave the coal in the ground." A group of activists, wearing masks of the G7 leaders, also linked hands to symbolise their desire for world leaders to come together and implement a binding climate deal. Tuesday's meeting involves 35 countries and will serve as the lead in for the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris in December.
