Aerial footage captured the devastation wrought by the recent bushfires in Mallacoota, Thursday, as the settlement begins the road to recovery.
Large swathes of dried out, brown foliage are seen amid patches of green trees while destroyed homes are evident even from high up in the air.
The Victorian town of Mallacoota was at the epicentre of the south Australian bushfire crisis, which has claimed the lives of at least 31 people since it began in September. An estimated one billion animals have also been killed in the fires, which burnt around 10 million hectares of land.
