An unknown Polish nationalist vandalised a monument dedicated to Soviet Soldiers that died in the battle to liberate the Praga district of Poland from Nazis during W.W.II in Autumn, 1944, in Warsaw, Wednesday. Witnesses said that an unknown man threw a jar of red paint at the monument at Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw during Ukraine's annual March of Independence. Police have been deployed at the site to protect the monument from further vandals. The monument, unveiled on September 15, 1946, reads: "Eternal glory to the heroes of the Red Army who fell in battles for the liberation of the Polish capital of Warsaw." For several years the monument has been systematically attacked by extreme Polish nationalists who demand the removal of historical monuments dedicated to the soldiers of the Red Army.
