Police officer Edward Nero departed from the Courthouse Mitchell, Baltimore, on Monday, after being found not guilty on all counts over the death of Freddie Gray.
To aid his departure Nero’s brother, dressed in a suit and surrounded by Baltimore Sheriffs, was sent out as a decoy, drawing protesters and press away from the court’s entrance and allowing Nero to exit without incident.
Gray died from injuries he sustained whilst in police custody on April 19, 2015. According to Gray's family he suffered severe spinal injuries, and his voice box was crushed and his neck snapped before he slipped into a coma and died.
