A pregnant woman and her three-year-old daughter killed by Israel Defence Force (IDF) airstrikes were brought to a mosque in Gaza, Sunday, to be buried. Before being taken to the mosque the bodies were brought to a house were the victims' relatives and friends waited. The attack that killed the mother and daughter was carried out early on Sunday, when the IDF targeted a house they claimed to have been a weapon manufacturing facility, which Israel claims was run by Hamas. The attack was purportedly a response to two rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel. Recent weeks have witnessed increased violence across the Palestinian territories, triggered by Israeli authorities banning Muslims access to the al-Aqsa mosque, a site in East Jerusalem sacred to both Jews and Muslims. According to the Red Cross medical agency, more than 900 Palestinians have been injured throughout the West Bank and Jerusalem in seven consecutive days of protests and clashes with Israeli security forces. Four Israelis and 22 Palestinians have died so far.
