Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Russia's involvement in Syria rests on its commitment to "preserving" the Syrian statehood and denied claims that it was supporting Assad's so called "terrorist" campaign, in Moscow, Tuesday. Zakharova addressed concerns over the growing trend of media "propaganda" that has been placed on Russia's military involvement in Syria. ""On the 13th of October the Russian embassy in Damascus was attacked. The attack took place against the background of propaganda." Zakharova expressed her concerns over how Russia's campaign in "fighting international terrorists"is getting misrepresented by Western media outlets. Syrian rebels shelled a rally in Damascus, Tuesday, as hundreds of government supporters gathered near the Russian Embassy to show their support for the country's intervention in Syria
