02.08.2016
A pro-Muslim group staged a silent protest at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's speaking engagement in Ashburn, Virginia, on Tuesday. They were removed from the room shortly after.
Trump announced a new wave of donations to his campaign: "We're announcing that we're going to have more than 35 million dollars from a group of people like only 60,000 people, averaging 61 - think of it - 61 dollars apiece. This is Republican now because I'm putting up a lot of money."
The Republican nominee also spoke of international affairs, commenting on German Chancellor Angela Merkel's handling of refugees in Germany: ""You watch what happens to Angela Merkel, who I always thought of as a very good leader until she did this. I don't know what went wrong with her. I don't know. What went wrong? Angela what happened? What happened Angela? And you take a look at what's going on in Germany, the real facts ok. "They take in millions of people and they don't know anything about [them] and what's going on,” he added.
Donald Trump officially accepted the Republican Party presidential nomination on July 21.
