Police used tear gas to disperse hundreds of protesters taking part in an unauthorised rally in Paris on Saturday. Demonstrators disrupted traffic in central part of the French capital.
They took to the streets to voice their support for migrants and refugees after a campaign was promoted on social networks.
The protesters, joined by more than 190 rights groups, are calling for the simplification of paperwork and equal rights for those who wish to immigrate to France and legally reside in the country.
