An attack resembling those of September 9/11 and London 7/7 would hardly be surprising "under the current political climate," British Muslim and political activist Anjem Choudary said in London, Friday. Speaking at a protest rally outside Regents Park Mosque in the capital, Choudary spoke against the government's planned measures to tackle "extremism" and "radicalisation" which were announced during the Queen's annual speech on Thursday. "I think it’s an extremely volatile situation," he said, arguing the the British government are "sitting on a box of dynamite" which could "blow up in their own face." Chouadary pointed to the words of Mohammad Sidique Khan, believed to have been responsible for the July 7 2005 London bombings, who said "people won’t listen to our words so we are writing them with our own blood." Choudary was protesting against the so-called 'Extremism Bill' announced in the Queen's speech, which is the 11th 'anti-terror' measure implemented since the turn of the century. The bill includes banning orders, 'extremism' disruption orders and an increase in data retention powers.
