30.06.2015
Temperatures are soaring in parts of Britain on Tuesday as a heat wave that is bringing record-breaking temperatures to Spain and France pushes north. The heat is forecast to continue through much of the week, although the worst of the weather will be confined to the European mainland.
The UK Met Office said temperatures are expected to "nudge" above 30 degrees Celsius or 86 degrees Fahrenheit, with some isolated parts of Britain seeing highs of 35 C on Wednesday at the peak of the heat event.
Temperatures are unseasonably warm in Britain, but things will be much worse in parts of France and Spain with a high of 43.7 C in Iberia over the weekend. Temperatures in Paris on Wednesday may exceed 41 degrees Celsius, or 106 degrees Fahrenheit, which would set records.
