Thousands of anti-Brexit protesters marched through London on Saturday, as Parliament sat to vote on legislation regarding the UK’s departure from the EU.
Carrying posters mocking UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and waving EU flags, protesters marched from London's Marble Arch to Parliament Square. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan also attended the rally.
The protest was called by 'People’s Vote', a group campaigning for a referendum to be held on the final Brexit deal.
The UK Parliament ended up passing a backbench amendment put forth by Oliver Letwin to withhold the approval of the Brexit deal until the legislation to enact it, is passed. The amendment passed with 322 votes to 306 against.
