Cuba No Longer a State Sponsor of Terrorism Says Obama Administration
9
29.05.2015
The Obama administration formally removed Cuba from a U.S. terrorism blacklist.
Secretary of State John Kerry signed off on rescinding Cuba's "state sponsor of terrorism" designation exactly 45 days after the Obama administration informed Congress of its intent to do so.
Lawmakers had that amount of time to weigh in and try to block the move, but chose not to.
The step comes as officials from the two countries continue to hash out details of restoring full diplomatic relations.
