FBI Arrests Six Men in Alleged Plot to Join ISIL in Syria

Federal authorities announced Monday that the FBI arrested six men in Minnesota and California on terrorism charges, accusing them of attempting to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
Minnesota U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger said during a Monday news conference in Minneapolis, “As the complaint makes clear, this group is committed to joining ISIL by any means possible.”
Authorities say that a number of Minnesota residents have traveled to Syria in the past year, the Associated Press reports. Since 2007, at least 22 men have left the state to join Al Shabab in Somalia.
