Anti-Kiev fighters began a unilateral withdrawal of weapons of less than 100mm calibre from the lines of engagement in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, Sunday. The procedure of pulling the weapons back the weapons three kilometres (1.9 miles) from the front-line was closely followed by special monitors from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), who took note of the number of vehicles and their details. Spokespersons for both the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced plans for the withdrawal on Friday in a bid to implement Minsk agreement protocols. During Saturday, Kiev forces carried out a large shelling attack on the city of Donetsk. Almost 50 Minsk violations occurred in the region's capital on Saturday alone, according to DPR Deputy Defence Minister Eduard Basurin.
