Hundreds of supporters of incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko gathered outside the Presidential Administration of Ukraine building in Kiev on Monday, to express their gratitude to Poroshenko after he lost out to presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskiy, a day earlier.
The crowd chanted "thanks Petro" as they shook the hands of the incumbent Ukrainian President and even took selfies with Poroshenko, who was accompanied by his wife.
Poroshenko addressed the crowd saying, "Having united all our efforts, we will continue our progress and our reforms," and added his team was already eyeing the next parliamentary and presidential elections.
According to national exit polls, actor-turned-politician Zelenskiy received 73.2 percent of the vote, with Poroshenko coming second with 25.3 percent.
