Footage filmed on Sunday, shows civilians fleeing Kobani after the announcement of a deal between Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA). The agreement will see Syrian government troops deployed near the border to assist SDF forces in the fight against Turkey's military offensive.
Earlier on Sunday, the United States said it intends to withdraw troops from northern Syria.
On October 9, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of a military operation in north-eastern Syria dubbed 'Operation Peace Spring’. Ankara says the aim of the Turkish offensive is to create a 'safe zone' cleared of Kurdish groups.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimates over 130,000 people have been displaced from the Syrian-Turkish border area since the start of the Turkish offensive.
