24.10.2018
Hundreds of protesters rallied in front of the United States Embassy in Mexico City on Tuesday to denounce the Mexican and US governmental response to the migrant caravan travelling from Honduras towards the Mexico-US border.
Protesters marched from the US Embassy to the Mexican Foreign Affairs Ministry, where they burned two pinatas resembling US President Donald Trump and his Mexican counterpart Enrique Pena Nieto.
According to the UN, a migrant caravan of more than 7,000 asylum-seekers, mostly from Honduras, arrived in Mexico in recent days, with many trying to reach the US.
US President Donald Trump threatened to cut off financial aid to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador on Monday. Speculation grows that the US-Mexico border will be closed to block the influx.
