Russia: Citizens fleeing Yemen touch down in Moscow

Foreign nationals fleeing Yemen landed safely in Moscow on Sunday, as violence escalates in the war-torn country. Another plane is due to leave Cairo later in the evening, bringing the day's total number of evacuees up to 350 people. The efforts come as Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov proposed an international humanitarian coalition to evacuate foreign civilians from the conflict-stricken country. According to the most recent UN figures, over 500 people have been killed in Yemen since the fighting escalated two weeks ago. The Red Cross has called for an immediate 24-hour-ceasefire in order to provide humanitarian aid to civilians.
