Michael Brown's father joined a group of protesters at George Floyd's memorial in Minneapolis, on Wednesday.
During the rally, news broke out about ex-police officer Derek Chauvin's charge being upped to second-degree murder and three other officers being charged in the case of George Floyd's death. Chauvin pinned down Floyd by the throat before he died.
"That's beautiful to hear because wrong is wrong and covering up is being unfair. The people doing all the wrong are these crooked cops, dirty cops, whatever you want to call them. They get exposed now," said Michael Brown's father in reaction.
Protesters also observed a minute of silence in honour of Floyd.
Eighteen-year-old Michael Brown was unarmed when he was shot dead August 9, 2014 by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. The shooting sparked unrest and nightly clashes with police in the local community, particularly following a decision by the St Louis County grand jury not to indict Wilson.
