Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu claimed that 300,000 people living in Aleppo are ready to move towards the Turkish border as refugees, while speaking at a fundraising conference for the Syrian refugee crisis in London, Thursday.
Speaking on the influx of Syrian refugees coming into Turkey, Davutoglu said that "ten thousand new refugees are waiting in front of the door of Kilis," a Turkish town on the Syria border, adding that "Sixty to Seventy thousand people in the camps in north Aleppo are moving towards Turkey."
The Turkish Prime Minister said Turkey would continue their "open door policy" for all Syrians wishing to enter the country "whoever comes to Turkey," adding that "everybody is welcome."
Davutoglu also invited participants of the conference to a global humanitarian summit in Turkey, due to take place in Istanbul on 23 and 24 May.
Leaders and representatives from 70 different countries are attending the global fundraising conference taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II conference centre in Parliament Square, London, hoping to raise billions to slow the influx of Syrian refugees into Europe and to help those displaced by the war.
