Moldova: MPs leave parliament after dismissing govt in vote of no confidence

29.10.2015
Moldovan officials could be seen leaving the country's parliament building in Chisinau, Thursday, after the parliament members voted to dismiss Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet's government in a vote of no confidence. Sixty-five out of the 101 seat parliament voted against Strelet's administration, which was only voted in on June 30. Moldova has witnessed a summer of protests after allegations of major banking fraud rocked the government last year. In November 2014, the Moldovan state was forced to bail out three banks after they lost $1.5 billion (€1.35 billion) in total. Protesters are calling for criminal charges to be brought against those responsible.
