Democrats Warm to Chief Justice John Roberts

17.07.2015
John Roberts may have been appointed by George W. Bush, but in recent weeks it’s Democrats — not Republicans — who are fondest of the Supreme Court’s conservative chief justice.
Only 23 percent of Republicans viewed the chief justice favorably, compared with 43 percent unfavorably. Thirty-four percent of GOP respondents did not have an opinion.
Justice Anthony Kennedy, another Republican appointee who parted ways with Republicans on both of the aforementioned recent court cases, was viewed even less favorably by Republicans in the same poll.
