Thousands of protesters surrounded Hong Kong's police headquarters on Friday, putting new pressure on the city's administration following its proposed extradition bill.
Black-clad protesters barricaded officers inside the police headquarters, demanding that authorities release demonstrators that were detained last week.
Authorities reportedly shut down the police headquarters for a day, citing security concerns.
Footage also shows Hong Kong residents gathering at a makeshift memorial to mourn the death of an activist on the seventh day of his passing. The activist reportedly plunged to his death from scaffolding on June 15 after unfurling a protest banner denouncing the bill.
