Alton Towers Crash Victim Tweets His Gratitude

A university student seriously injured in Britain's Alton Towers rollercoaster crash has said he has been “overwhelmed” by the response received since the incident, The theme park’s owner pledged to keep the popular attraction closed until every ride was determined to be safe.
Eighteen year old Joe Pugh and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Leah Washingtonwere in the front row of the Smiler ride when it collided at 20 miles and hour with a stationary test car on the track on Tuesday afternoon.
Pugh and Washington were among four of the most seriously injured riders in Tuesday’s crash at the amusement park and remain in hospital with significant leg injuries. A total of 16 people were on the ride when the accident occurred. Pugh wrote on Twitter: “So overwhelmed with the response I’ve had from my accident at Alton Towers, Thank you for everyone’s concern.”
