Thought video was huge for Facebook? The get ready for virtual reality: That was one of the messages Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave investors during the company’s Q2 2015 earnings call. Zuckerberg said, “Immersive 3D content is the obvious next thing after video."
Facebook acquired virtual reality startup Oculus in March of 2014 for $2 billion, and has since announced that it will ship the Oculus Rift headset to consumers in early 2016.
Facebook’s net income for the quarter was $719 million, compared to $791 million for Q2 of 2014.
