Syria: Assad's forces retake ruined Zabadani

Footage was released on Wednesday showing the destroyed city of Zabadani, North-West of Damascus after Assad's forces retook the city from militants earlier this week. However armed groups such as Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Islamic State (IS,formerly ISIS/ISIL) are still present in certain parts of the city. The Syrian army patrol the streets and reports suggest even communication with the militants at the ceasefire line as the distance between them is so small. A temporary truce has been agreed upon which has allowed humanitarian aid to enter the city. Zabadani has been besieged for many months under the occupation of terrorist organisations therefore obstructing aid supplies. "We welcome all agreements that are enacted for the benefit of the civilian population. We want to see more similar agreements in the future", said a Red Cross worker.
