15.02.2016
Serbia's Association of Disabled War Veterans gathered outside the main entrance to the Serbian government building in Belgrade, Monday, to protest against potential plans for Serbia to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).
Rallying the protesters was Zeljko Vasiljevic, the secretary of the Association of Disabled War Veterans, who said that Serbia's future lies with them furthering cooperation with Russia.
On 12th February, Slavenko Terzic, Belgrade's ambassador to Russia, reportedly said that Serbia was not planning to join NATO. In December, NATO also stated that Serbia does not aspire to join the Alliance; however, they conceded that Serbia is deepening its political dialogue and cooperation with NATO.
