The U.S. Justice Department said on Friday, The St. Louis County, Missouri, Family Court discriminates against black children in its administration of juvenile justice and fails to ensure youth have adequate legal representation.
Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta, head of the Civil Rights Division, said in a statement, "The findings we issue today are serious and compelling."
The department said, The findings included a series of constitutional violations including involving the treatment of youth in the county justice system.
