USA: FBI broke protocol to ambush Trump advisor Flynn - White House

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House Press Secretary: "We are not asking American tax payers for that. We are looking at existing funding through other agencies right now, that we can draw on to do that immediately. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders claimed that the FBI "ambushed" US President Donald Trump's former national security advisor Michael Flynn, while speaking in Washington DC on Tuesday.
"The FBI broke standard protocol in the way that they came in and ambushed General Flynn, and in the way that they questioned him and in the way that they encouraged him not to have White House counsel's office present," she said.
She added that the FBI did so because "it was the Trump administration and they thought they could get away with it."
Sanders' comments came after Flynn's appearance in a federal court, where he was slated to be sentenced for lying to federal investigators about his contacts with Russian officials.
Flynn previously pleaded guilty to obfuscating information about conversations he held with former Russian ambassador to the US Sergei Kislyak but his lawyers requested the sentencing was delayed.
