Newly-elected mayor of Budapest Gergely Karacsony addressed his supporters in the Hungarian capital on Wednesday, declaring "the rebirth of the Republic," speaking on the anniversary of 1965 Hungarian uprising against the communist rule.
He said that people should stop the disappearance of the Republic from their day-to-day life, stressing the necessity to take back people's "dreams" from the "rulers," calling for people's power to be established.
Gergely Karacsony, a pro-European centre-left opposition candidate and the opponent of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his ruling party Fidesz, won Budapest municipal election on October 13.
