Russia: More detailed info on plane crash available after 12.00 - EMERCOM

Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) of St. Petersburg Alexei Anikin spoke to the press inside St. Petersburg's Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sunday. Anikin confirmed that Russian rescue workers have started work in the "emergency area" in Sinai. "We continue our work with psychologists, we have accurate schedule of the relatives' arrivals," he added. He also informed the press that a working group meeting will be held after 12.00 MSK (09.00 GMT) meaning that following the meeting "more detailed information" will be available. Around 100 rooms and suites out of approximately 300 in the hotel are reserved or occupied by relatives of the passengers who were aboard the Kogalymavia (Metrojet) 7K9268 plane crash. The Russian Airbus A321 passenger plane went down in Sinai, Egypt, less than 30 minutes after taking off for St. Petersburg. There were a total of 224 people on board - 217 passengers, including 17 children, and seven crew members, with reports indicating that all but three passengers, who are purportedly Ukrainian, were Russian.
