Thousands of people took to the streets of Guatemala City on Saturday, to protest against moves by President Jimmy Morales to shutdown a UN-supported anti-corruption commission.
Demonstrators gathered outside the seat of Guatemala's constitutional court where they listened to speeches and musical performances.
The Guatemalan government announced on Monday that the International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG) had 24 hours to leave the country, but the constitutional court suspended this decision on Wednesday.
Morales had declared last year that the body, which was established in 2006 to track anti-corruption efforts in the Central American nation, would not have its mandate renewed, claiming that it had undermined national sovereignty and acted illegally.
The president originally supported CICIG after his election in 2016 but withdrew his support after it began an investigation into campaign finance irregularities by his party and requested that parliament remove his legal immunity.
