Italy: No deaths reported in latest quake - National Civil Protection Chief

Fabrizio Curcio, Head of the Italian National Civil Protection (Italian): "At the moment no, we are in contact with everyone on ground, several injured from the Matarice area to Norcia and Tolentino but we still have to check every town."
Head of the Italian National Civil Protection Fabrizio Curcio gave a press conference from Rieti, after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit central Italy on Sunday morning, days after tremors in the same region left two to three thousand people homeless in the region. During the presser Curcio asserted that there were currently no reported deaths due to the latest quake.
A reported 11 people were injured on Sunday, with local sources stating that the earthquake woke up Italians as far as Rome. The National Commission for the Forecast and Prevention of Major Risks (CGR) predicted on Friday that more earthquakes could hit the region in the near future.
Sunday's earthquake follows earlier tremors in the week which damaged buildings around central Italy. Both events come after August's 6.2 magnitude earthquake in central Italy that killed some 290 people and injured over 400.
