Clashes broke out between the police and doctors who were protesting what they describe as a complete lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical staff on the front lines of the fight against the novel coronavirus, in Quetta on Monday. Several doctors were detained by the police.
The protesters marched on the chief minister's secretariat building, before staging a sit-in, before the police intervened and arrested dozens of demonstrators.
Pakistan has over 3,700 registered cases of the virus, according to numbers from the John Hopkins University.
