15.06.2016
Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz criticised the EU's refugee polices, suggesting that the number of those entering Europe on asylum needs to be reduced, speaking in Vienna, Wednesday,
Kurz slammed the EU's refugee policies, saying "Currently it is not the European Union who decides who comes to Europe, but the human traffickers," before adding that "If we cannot prevent the fact that the rescue in the Mediterranean is combined with a ticket to central Europe, then more and more people will make themselves on their way. And the human traffickers will profit of that, and more and more people will die."
During his speech, Kurz also gave his opinion regarding the political climate of his own country.
"I think that it's not only the referendum in the U.K, or the poll in Switzerland, but also the current spirit which we see in Austria: that should make us think. And that should not be used to continue current politics, and to do as if everything is in order. Instead, I believe that we should be honest and admit that things are not in order."
