At least 26 people were reportedly poisoned during the counting of the Kosovan parliamentary election votes with the vote count being temporarily suspended, in Pristina on Sunday.
Chief Executive of Central Election Commission, Enis Halimi, said that the substance which might have caused the poisoning has not been identified yet. Experts in hazmat suits as well as police were seen working near the Infrastructure Ministry where the vote counting took place.
The reported poisoning resembled an allergic reaction that allegedly started when those counting the votes opened some of the envelops with the expatriate votes.
Parliamentary elections took place in Kosovo on October 6.
