Hundreds of activists gathered in front of the JP Morgan Chase & Co. bank building on Park Avenue, New York, on Wednesday afternoon, to protest against the large corporation and how their activities affect the environment and poorer communities. Protesters also highlighted issues with organistations such as Chase funding and supporting the New York Police Department "over-polices low income communities of colour," according to Jawanza Williams of Voices of Community Activists & Leaders. The rally managed to shut down the traffic at this major avenue of New York for an hour, before the police forced them to move. No arrests or incidents were reported. The protest was part of the nearly 200 Peoples Climate protests that were taking place on Wednesday all across the United States.
