Armenia: Lavrov attends CSTO meeting in Yeveran

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov attended the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Yerevan on Monday.
Participants of the Council discussed a number of issues related to international and regional security including counter-terrorism, conflict settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh and the situation in Syria.
Also on the agenda was the draft CSTO’s Collective Security Strategy for the period up to 2025.
Kazakhstan was represented by Erlan Idrissov, Belarus by Vladimir Makei, Armenia by Eduard Nalbandyan, Tajikistan by Sirodjidin Aslov, and Kyrgyzstan by Erlan Abdyldaev.
The CSTO was formed in 1992 and currently comprises six former Soviet republics including Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
