Hungary: Anti-migrant border fence necessary, says Interior Minister Pinter

Hungarian Defence Minister Csaba Hende and Hungarian Interior Minister Sandor Pinter held a joint presser in the town of Morahalom on the southern border of Hungary Thursday, after members of the nation's defence forces helped build a 150 metre (492 ft) long fence designed to prevent undocumented migrants from entering the country. The fence was presented alongside three others and one will be chosen to 'protect' the nation's 175 km (109 mile) long southern border. Defending the move, Pinter announced that 81,333 "illegal" border crossings have occurred on the Serbian-Hungarian border since January 1, 2015. Earlier in July, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban held a press conference alongside Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic in Budapest following a summit with both countries on the issue of undocumented migrants, where the two discussed plans to build the border fence
