Last year she had the surgery, the ovary was removed, and for two years I have been walking with my daughter thanking her [the Virgin] for the recovery of my daughter."

SOT, Lidia Rivera, Worshipper (Spanish): "We came from Jalisco Puebla. It's a pilgrimage which has been going on for years, and this is the seventh year for me that I have come here, and we took approximately three days. We left on December 8 to arrive on the 11th."

SCRIPT
Thousands of pilgrims flooded the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City on Thursday, to mark the day in which, according to the tradition, the Virgin appeared to San Juan Diego at the mountain of Tepeyac.
Pilgrims from all over Latin America and Mexico came to offer their prayers and beg the Virgin Mary's intercession, as they carried flowers and pictures of the Lady of Guadalupe. Many also honour
Tonantzin, the Aztec mother goddess, which was worshipped long before the Virgin Mary in the area.
"Many of the things that we have demanded have been granted, and that is the faith that moves us year after year," said a worshipper.
Around 20 million tourists and pilgrims visit the Basilica every year, in what is considered the biggest pilgrimage of the Catholic world.
