Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived at Haseki Egitim ve Arastirma Hastanesi hospital in Istanbul, Tuesday, after 11 people were killed and 36 wounded following an explosion in the central Istanbul district of Vezneciler.
Erdogan made a statement to the press, saying that Turkey "will continue its efforts against terrorists" and that the explosion could not be called "just an unforgivable mistake".
This morning’s car bomb explosion killed 11 people, including 7 police officers and injured 36 people. A parked vehicle, packed with explosives, was reportedly detonated during the morning rush hour near Istanbul University and historic Sultanahmet district, while a service shuttle carrying police officers was passing by.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
