Turkey: US Syria envoy James Jeffrey arrives in Ankara for talks

SCRIPT
US Special Representative for Syria James Jeffrey was received by Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar in Ankara on Monday to discuss the latest developments in Syria.
The parties reportedly deliberated, among other topics, on the establishment of a safe zone in northern Syria along the Turkish border, and the situation with the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), as Turkey wants them to withdraw from the border area.
According to a statement from the US State Department, Jeffrey was invited by the Turkish government to discuss "issues of mutual interest on Syria."
Talks will reportedly resume on Tuesday.
