SOT, Firdos Framarz, Kabul Police spokesperson (Dari): "This morning around 07:10, a suicide bomber driving a [Toyota] Corolla [detonated his explosives]. Kabul's security team was already trying to detain this person. It is still unclear whether his target was actually here [Kabul University] or he was just crossing the University Street when the car exploded. According to the Ministry of Public Health, 16 people were injured and four were killed in the blast."

SOT, Rahmatullah, Eyewitness (Dari): "I see the car which detonated here and set nearby vehicles on fire. After the blast when I got out of my shop, I saw the dead and injured. One was crying and nobody was there to help. I helped move five or six people to the hospital with private cars and ambulances. One person who was killed was my friend, may God bless him, his name was Mustafa."

At least nine people were killed and 33 wounded after a car bomb was detonated near Kabul University in the Afghan capital on Friday.
Footage shows the burnt remains of the Toyota Corolla, which was used in the suicide blast. Security forces patrolled the premises in front of the university.
"It is still unclear whether the driver's target was actually here or he was just crossing the University street when the car exploded," said Kabul Police spokesperson Firdos Framarz.
The blast reportedly occurred as students were waiting outside the university's southern gate to take an exam.
The Taliban has reportedly denied any responsibility for the suicide blast.
