What happens if you're the president of the United States and you see a really awesome space photo? President Barack Obama shared a photo on his new Twitter account showing a crowded, star-filled part of the Milky Way as seen by the Hubble Space Telescope.
The Hubble image shows the Arches Cluster, the most dense star cluster that we know of in the Milky Way, according to Hubble scientists.
John Holdren, the director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy at the White House, explained a little bit of the story behind why the Hubble image was included in a note to Obama. In the note, Holdren said he hoped the image would make the president 'think' about the density and possibilites of what is in outer space. Holdren then shared the note more widely, sending it out in an email Thursday.
