Scuffles broke out as thousands of protesters poured onto Syntagma Square in front of the Greek parliament in Athens to demand the country stays in Europe, Monday. The demonstration came on the day of the European Emergency summit on Greece. The demonstration, backed by conservative party Nea Demokratia, saw protesters carrying Greek and European flags and blowing whistles. Greece is due to pay the International Monetary Fund €1.6 billion ($1.8 billion) by June 30. Unless the government can reach a deal with its international creditors, the country risks default.
