UN: Saudi Arabia is the 'main artery that provides life elixir to terrorism' - Syria's Jaafari

Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari accused some members of the United Nations Security Council of ignoring the "elephant in the room," during an address to the UN Security Council in New York, Tuesday, stating that "certain members in this chamber pretend that it does not exist, and they choose neither to address, nor solve it." The Syrian representative went on to say that the "trans-boundary, takfiri, terrorism," which was affecting the region was "funded by well-known states, lead by Saudi Arabia, which is the main artery that provides the life elixir to terrorism." Jaafari added that "the epidemic of terrorism was unleashed from its Wahhabi nest, it struck Damascus, Baghdad, Beirut, Kuwait and Sinai in a barbaric and indiscriminate manner. It reached Abuja, Mali, Tunisia, Libya and Algeria. It even made a stop in Sydney, Boston, Paris and other cities." The security council meeting came days after at least 129 people were killed and more than 349 left injured in a series of coordinated attacks that were carried out at six different locations across Paris on Friday evening. At least 87 of those victims were killed after gunmen opened fire during a concert at the Bataclan theatre, taking dozens hostage before detonating suicide bombs. Dozens more were killed in attacks at the French national stadium and a string of popular bars and restaurants. The, so-called, Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
