German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she hoped the UK's exit deal from the EU, could be signed at the European Council on Sunday, at a joint press conference alongside Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen at the Chancellery in Berlin on Tuesday.
The German Chancellor said it was her goal that "good, friendly, close, collaborative relations" with the UK would continue after Brexit, a view echoed by the Danish Prime Minister.
"It is our point of view that we should stay as close as possible," Rasmussen added.
Russia's manufacturing of SSC-8 missiles in breach of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) was also discussed.
"We know that Russia has not been complying with the guidelines of this treaty for a longer time and now it's about to discuss how this will continue. And the United States of America have said, that they want to back out of this treaty under these circumstances." Merkel said.
Earlier in the day, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called on the international community to call for Moscow to cease production of intermediate range missiles and comply with the treaty.
